As a daughter of two teachers (primary and secondary school) my life has always had a learning focus.  My career has spanned theatre in education, industrial computer security and international professional development, in which I have coordinated technology enhanced learning across  interdisciplinary contexts.  With a significant publication and large-scale international research portfolio I have extensive collaborative interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange experience (e.g. Schools and Universities, Microsoft, BT, Cannon, GOOGLE, Police Forces, NHS) producing award-winning outputs (e.g. WISE Award presented by HRH Princess Royal).  The constant across all these projects is the role of empowering teacher expertise through understanding learners needs.  Technology and organisations can enable and challenge these objectives.  My research has identified how to increase enablers whilst understanding and reducing the challenges.
